Title: Pastoring and the Great Commandment
Description: An expert in the law once asked Jesus what he must do to inherit eternal life. Jesus responded by asking the expert what he understood the law to say and the man said, "Love the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength and love your neighbor as yourself."
Not unlike this expert on the law, pastors and ministry leaders know that we are called to love the Lord; however, much of our discipleship focuses on our mind. It can be easy to believe that if we have the right doctrine, we will be fine while ignoring what is going on in our emotions and our bodies.
What would discipleship, and pastoral ministry, look like if we worked with not only the mind (right doctrine)—but also with the heart (feelings and desires), and the body (our “strength”)?
Join us in a time with Fr. Chris Schuttee of Christ Anglican Church as he shares his reflections on some of these important questions and as we take some time to consider what that looks like in our own ministry and leadership context.
