Pastors and Ministry Leaders,
Please join us for our last Surge Gathering before our summer break. In 2017 we began hosting regional Surge Gatherings, but a few times a year we like to gather all together and learn in one space. May’s Surge lunch will be a great time of prayer, discussion, and learning together. Join us for the first Wednesday of May and get a picture of what God is doing across our state through our growing fellowship of pastors and churches.
Hope to see you there!

The Frontiers of Faith and Work
For the last decade, the faith and work movement has had a significant impact on churches in North America, helping them to recover a Biblical vision of work and how it fits within God’s mission. Most of these efforts have focused on preaching, teaching, and organizing approaches to vocational discipleship that focus on answering the foundational question of: “Why does work matter?”
God has used this emphasis on the question of “why” in incredible ways. Today, in many cities, including the Phoenix area, you will find communities of Christians with a rich theology of work, engaging in fruitful work, and are contributing to the flourishing of their cities.
However, there’s more work to be done. If we want to see our congregants continue to glorify God, serve our neighbors, and bear witness to Jesus through their daily work, we need to push deeper into vocational discipleship. We need to explore the frontiers of the faith and work movement and ask “What’s next?”
Join us as we reflect on some important, and often unexplored, aspects of vocational discipleship. We will identify important questions that need to be asked and brainstorm tangible ways we can help our congregations put Jesus on display through their vocations and occupations.
