Curriculum Development

For the first two years of the Surge School the curriculum has consisted of favorite books, articles and sermons that coincided with the subject of a given quarter. This worked fine for the most part but has begun to get more difficult to manage as the Surge School has grown. Our desire is to keep leadership development as decentralized and local church focused as possible but we still have a need for quality control and cohesiveness between all the partnering churches.

As a result, the Surge Leadership Team has begun work on a dedicated curriculum that we believe will serve to unify and better equip all of the Surge School participants as well as provide peace of mind that all the churches are on the same page. The curriculum will include a written section to be read, projects to be accomplished, questions to be answered and various media. Our desire is to compliment our written section with articles, sermons, lectures, and videos from other voices that can round out the curriculum theologically and practically.

So keeping in mind our four quarters (“The Story of God”, “Gospel and the Heart”, “Gospel Encounter with Culture” and “Leading Servants”) what are some resources that you would recommend for our Reader?
